Now using Vimeo for videos

by Olaf Rabbachin 10. February 2010 17:30

Just a quick heads-up - until now, I was using animated GIFs whenever I wanted to better illustrate certain things resp. to i.e. show a UI-portion in action. However, this made the inital loading of blog entries a bit lengthy (I, for one, have to get along with 768kBit/s downstream ...), so I looked around for a video-streaming approach.

Looking around, I found Al Bsharah's Vimeo extension for BlogEngine.net (which is the engine behind this blog) which I installed today. So, instead of providing animated GIFs for the articles, I'll now provide videos that I uploaded to Vimeo.com. I've also replaced the existing GIFs accordingly.
